Schmidt & Schmidt S.C. is a family tradition that started back in 1920 when attorney Karl Schmidt (1898-1953) established our firm. Since then, three generations of the same Schmidt family lawyers have provided legal counsel to clients in the Wausau area, Marathon County and throughout North Central Wisconsin.

Although we do litigate issues on behalf of our clients, particularly those with divorce and post-divorce issues — our practice is focused mainly on transactional work. One client may need help with a real estate issue, such as selling a home or setting up a life estate. Another may need our assistance in planning for end-of-life issues and resolving important questions so that loved ones are not left in turmoil once that client is gone.
